VMware buys AI-based threat detection specialist Lastine

VMware has agreed to buy Lastline, in a transaction set to close by end July. No financial details were disclosed. Lastline CEO John Dilullo said that by joining with VMware, the company will be able to provide more capabilities and bring to market a total security system for data centre, branch office and remote and mobile users. The company specialised in detecting online threats using artificial intelligence (AI).
