Software virtualisation provider VMware report second quarter revenues up 13 percent year on year to USD 2.17 million driven by double-digit bookings in all major product licence categories. Net profit for the quarter came in at USD 644 million, or USD 1.56 per share, up from USD 406 million a year earlier due above all to a gain of USD 231 million from VMware's investment in Pivotal Software.
