VNPT seeks Vinasat-2 capacity for IPTV service

Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is seeking a licence to provide IPTV services through the Vinasat-2 satellite. The MyTV service is provided by VNPT subsidiary Viet Nam Software and Media Company (VASC). The service currently has nearly 800,000 users and is growing by around 20,000 per month. VASC targets 1 million users by the end of the year. The capacity of Vinasat-1 was used up much faster than expected. Therefore, unit Viet Nam Telecom International (VNPT-I) is proposing that VNPT companies be allowed to use Vinasat-2 to deliver their services. VNPT is seeking a quarter
