VNPT's restructuring plan still not approved

Vietnam's ICT ministry has yet to approve the restructuring plan submitted by Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group some time ago for its mobile units. The restructure is prompted by new regulations on telecommunications ownership which stipulate that an investor with more than a 20 percent stake in one telecommunications firm cannot own more than 20 percent in another telecommunications firm. VNPT owns both VinaPhone and MobiFone. The ministry will send the restructuring plan to related agencies for feedback before making a final decision, the Business Times writes citing Deputy Minister
