Vodacom raises concerns about Icasa MTR proposals

Vodacom Group said it supports a reduction in mobile termination rates (MTRs) but has concerns about asymmetry. In a statement, group CEO Shameel Joosub said it supports ICASA's goal of reducing MTRs, provided that such a reduction is cost-based. Joosub said cuts in the MTR can have a profound impact on both the firm's business and those of its suppliers, franchisees and other stakeholders.
