Vodacom South Africa and Samsung provide 20,000 smartphones to health authorities to tackle coronavirus

Vodacom Group says it will donate 20,000 smartphones plus 100 terabytes of data and 10 million call minutes to the National Department of Health to support efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus in South Africa. This will be used by frontline health workers to collect and transmit data for resource planning as the government accelerates testing. The donation will also assist the government by ensuring that medical resources are efficiently distributed.
