Vodacom South Africa service revenue up 7.7% to ZAR 33.9 bln in H1

Vodacom South Africa's revenue increased by 7.7 percent to ZAR 33.9 billion in the first six months to 30 September, boosted by equipment revenue growth of 18.4 percent, reflecting the improved exchange rate to the US dollar that assisted its strategy of driving uptake of affordable smart devices. The firm added 2.9 million customers in the period, reaching 40.0 million, up 12.1 percent on the previous year, supported by segmentation and bundle strategy.
