Vodacom Tanzania grows subscriber base by 1.4 mln in past year

Monday 11 May 2020 | 08:33 CET | News
Vodacom Tanzania said its subscriber base increased by 1.4 million to 15.5 million in the year ended 31 March, showing strong commercial growth and an increase in its market share to 32.8 percent. Vodacom attributed service revenue growth of 0.9 percent to solid commercial execution supported by strong customer growth. The slower growth in the second half of the year was mainly a result of the barring of 2.9 million non-biometric registered customers and the associated compliance costs as well as intense competitive pricing pressure.
