Vodacom ties up with VoD firms for billing,mulls own service

Vodacom South Africa is in talks with Netflix and other local and international video-on-demand (VOD) players with a view to them using the company's billing infrastructure to provide consumers with flat-rate access to films, serials and other content. Group CEO Shameel Joosub told TechCentral that Vodacom is also preparing a comprehensive VOD offering of its own, which will be launched in the first half of 2016. It has not come up with a name for the service yet, he added.
