Vodafone Czech Republic has introduced four new zero-rated extra data packages called Vodafone Pass for selected applications, use of which is not deducted from the universal data package. From 05 October, the operator offers Chat Pass for chat applications and Social Pass for social networks and from 15 November, it will add Video Pass and Music Pass.

Zero rating applies only for use of the services, not downloads or uploads. With Chat Pass, the zero rating does not apply for audio and video calls, just messages, including various attachments, even if the content is a video, picture or an audio file.

For the network neutrality requirement, the zero-rating ceases to apply as soon there are no more data available in the universal data package under the subscription.

Vodafone Pass packages can be combined with the tariffs Naplno, Red LTE, Red+, Smart, Start 100/200 and 500 minutes and are available both for business and individual customers. The can also be purchased with the tariffs Jetovtobe or bolted on to the packages Complete On-net and Complete All Networks for non-business customers, and to Red Profi tariffs for business customers. Those using a shared Red + family tariff can also share Vodafone Pass.

Chat Pass packages cover the applications WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger, Telegram and Vodafone Message+ and costs CZK 99. Social Pass covers the apps  Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest and also costs CZK 99, but in promotion it will be free until the end of November. Vodafone will publish the details of Video Pass and Music Pass later.
