Vodafone expands network to cover line 2 of Madrid's metro

Vodafone Spain has equipped the entire length of Line 2 of the Madrid underground, Metro de Madrid, with 2G and 3G mobile coverage. The newly-deployed network, which covers trains, tunnels and the line's 20 stations, will allow the 122,000 passengers who travel along Line 2 per day to download at speeds of up to 4-5 Mbps and upload at up to 2 Mbps. The service is a continuation of Vodafone's collaboration with Metro de Madrid, which has already resulted in Line 2 being renamed 'Línea 2 Vodafone' and the underground's flagship station, Sol, changing its name to 'Vodafone Sol' until 2016.
