Vodafone Germany outsources network jobs to Romania

Tuesday 12 November 2013 | 14:27 CET | News
Vodafone Germany plans to cut 200-250 jobs from its network division in a bid to save costs and outsource the posts to Romania, reports rp-online.de citing unnamed company sources. Part of the network monitoring operations will remain in Germany to ensure quality and retain some jobs. The board must also approve a social plan for affected workers - up to 2.4 months salary for contracted employees. Some of the engineers have worked for the company for 15 or 20 years, making them eligible for payments worth around three years salary or more than EUR 150,000.
