Vodafone Germany tests app to choose best internet network

Vodafone Germany said it's introducing a new app to help customers connect to the best possible access network. The pilot project in three cities was developed with Cisco and Chemring Technology Solutions (CTS) and sees smartphone users automatically connected to the best mobile internet. The new technique works with any Wi-Fi hotspot, choosing the best connection for the customer in the background. This is based on tests for speed and stability, among other things, on all available connections. Algorithms and rules also base the decision on when and where the phone is used, and what for, and
