Vodafone has 1 mln+ hotspots after Kabel Deutschland merger

Friday 25 September 2015 | 11:17 CET | News
Vodafone Germany operates the largest WLAN grid across thirteen German federal states, with more than 1 million hotspots, onlinekosten.de reports. The technical basis for the network, which includes outdoor and indoor hotspots as well as homespots, is its fibre/coaxial cable infrastructure. Kabel Deutschland was merged into Vodafone at the beginning of September. The Wi-Fi network has subsequently been redesigned, and the free hotspot finder app has been adapted to the Vodafone design.
