Vodafone, Huawei deliver 2.7Gbps via single IP microwave link

Monday 19 February 2018 | 15:29 CET | News
Vodafone and Huawei announced that joint lab trials successfully showed that traditional IP microwave links are a viable backhaul technology for future 5G networks. The tests demonstrated that it is possible to deliver up to 2.7Gbps capacity from a single IP microwave link by aggregating 2x112 MHz channels in a single vertical or horizontal polarisation. It is the first time that a single radio frequency (RF) outdoor unit has been capable of reaching over 2Gbps in a single polarisation, said the partners.
