Vodafone, Huawei successfully test Fixed Access Network Slicing

Vodafone Ireland and Huawei have successfully ended a field trial for Fixed Access Network Slicing, which consists of virtually cutting a physical FTTH network into many virtual network slices. This creates multi-tenancy virtualisation of the access network, allowing, for example, different operations teams to manage their own customers independently, even if they are all on the same physical access network. During the test, separate consumer and enterprise virtual network slices were created on a live FTTH network. The consumer slice carried broadband internet and Vodafone TV services while
