Vodafone India 3G/4G user base jumps almost 29% to 46 mln in H1

Vodafone said the number of its mobile customers went up by 3.3 percent to 207.4 million in the first fiscal half to end September, compared to 200.7 million the year before. The number of 3G and 4G users jumped almost 29 percent, to 46.0 million from 35.9 million. Average data usage quadrupled in the half, compared to the year before, with average use at 2.7 GB. Growth was driven by higher smartphone penetration, now at over 38 percent of the total customer base. Data using customers now total 67.7 million, of which 44.6 million use over 1 MB.
