Vodafone India service revenue growth slows to 5.6% in Q2

Vodafone India saw its organic service revenue growth slow to 5.6 percent on an annual basis in the fiscal second quarter to September. Vodafone blamed the slower growth rate on MTR cuts, roaming price caps and an increase in service tax. Excluding these effects, service revenue grew 11.2 percent on an organic basis in the first half of the fiscal year. Customer growth remained strong, with 503,000 contract customers and 2.283 million prepaid users added in the second quarter, for a total base of 188.170 million at the end of the period.
