Vodafone Italia unveils 300 Mbps FTTH network in Milan

Vodafone Italia has officially unveiled its 300 Mbps FTTH service in Milan, the next phase in its plan to expand its fibre-optic network to 7 million households, a quarter of the Italian population, by 2016. Last month the operator launched a similar 300 Mbps FTTH service in Bologna, part of its collaboration with broadband provider Metroweb. Vodafone said the new rollout means a total of eight Italian cities can access FTTH at speeds of 100 Mbps or more and the company is working on extending the network to 40 cities.
