Vodafone launches 4G services on 700 MHz in New Zealand

Tuesday 22 July 2014 | 04:40 CET | News
Vodafone has commercially launched 4G services using 700 MHz spectrum freed up from the Government's Digital Dividend auction. The service will initially be available in the Papakura district, to be later expanded to rural New Zealand. Back in 2013, Vodafone conducted a rural 4G trial using 700MHz spectrum at Lake Brunner on the West Coast of the South Island. In addition to a progressive upgrade of its existing sites with 700MHz, Vodafone will also build new sites each year to upgrade its network coverage.
