Vodafone Qatar targets monthly phone contracts

Vodafone Qatar aims to sign up more customers on monthly contracts, to reduce reliance on less lucrative pay-as-you-go business, CEO Kyle Whitehill has told Reuters. Whitehill said pay-as-you-go price cuts by Ooredoo in 2014 forced his company to follow suit, and this has hit revenue. The company has yet to make a quarterly net profit since it its entry to the Qatari market ended state-controlled Ooredoo's monopoly in 2009.
