Vodafone, RA trial digital signatures on mobile phones

Vodafone (UK), operator, has announced a 4-month digital signature trial using Siemens C35i mobile phones with the Radiocommunications Agency (RA). The trial will involve 50 RA workers, enabling them to sign their subsistence or travel forms while away from the office. If successful, this will provide the basis for a commercial roll-out of digital certificate-based services. Partners for the trial are Sonera SmartTrust, Giesecke & Devrient, GlobalSign and Secartis.
