Vodafone recorded 93% more 112 emergency calls in 2014

Tuesday 10 February 2015 | 13:55 CET | News
Vodafone Germany recorded almost twice as many (+93%) emergency calls in 2014 as in the previous year; on average, 6,400 112 calls are made on the Vodafone network every day. The provider stated two reasons for the increase: the awareness level of 112 as opposed to 110 has risen, but also, the amount of people with a mobile phone has gone up. Now, two thirds of senior citizens have one. In addition, Vodafone has introduced the child protect service, which notifies parents if their child dials 112.
