Vodafone removes name from Madrid Sol metro station

Thursday 2 June 2016 | 10:55 CET | News
Vodafone Spain has removed its name from Madrid's central underground station Sol after its three-year sponsorship contract with the regional government came to an end. Under the terms of the deal, Vodafone is responsible for replacing all the "Vodafone Sol" signs throughout the station, a process that will be completed by 03 June. The regional government earned around EUR 1 million a year from the sponsorship, which followed a 2012 deal that saw the station renamed Sol Samsung Galaxy Note.
