Vodafone Spain loses 30,600 fixed line subs in August - report

Tuesday 4 September 2018 | 15:42 CET | News
Vodafone Spain shed over 30,000 fixed line subscribers in August at the expense of its 3 main network rivals, according to as-yet-unconfirmed CNMC figures obtained by El Pais. The UK operator lost some 30,600 lines against gains of 8,000 and 4,600 for Telefonica and Orange, while the MasMovil group continued to top the monthly ranking with 17,600 new subscriptions across its Masmovil, Yoigo and Pepephone brands. The report attributes Vodafone's figures in part to its decision to no longer offer La Liga and Champions League football, the full effects of which will be revealed in September.
