Vodafone Spain sheds 32,000 pay-TV subs in Q2

Monday 27 August 2018 | 09:32 CET | News
Vodafone Spain shed around 32,000 pay-TV subscribers in the second quarter of 2018, compared to losses of 2,000 for Orange Spain and gains of 7,600 for Telefonica's pay-TV platform Movistar+, according to data gathered by El Espanol. In the first six months of the year, Vodafone lost some 42,000 subscribers against gains of 87,300 and 13,000 for Telefonica and Orange, said the report, which attributes Vodafone's figures in part to its decision to no longer offer La Liga and Champions League football, the effects of which will be revealed in full in the third quarter.
