Vodafone Spain to phase out smartphone leasing service

Tuesday 3 November 2015 | 10:39 CET | News
Vodafone Spain is phasing out the 'New Every Year' smartphone leasing service two years after its launch, reports website Xataka Movil. The service was designed to give new and existing subscribers to a 24-month Smart or Red contract the opportunity to change their smartphone every 12 months after handing in their old handset. The service cost between EUR 10 and EUR 12 per month and included mobile insurance against accidental damage or theft. Vodafone will cancel the service for new users starting 06 November, said the report, but will retain it for existing subscribers.
