Volkswagen connects cars with SierraLTE embedded modules

Sierra Wireless was contracted to provide its AirPrime AR Series modules and the Legato platform to Volkswagen's new connected cars powered by the car maker's Car-Net platform. Several Volkswagen models that will incorporate the company's 4G/LTE technology will reach the market in 2018. Sierra Wireless automotive products will deliver mobile connectivity for the Volkswagen Car-Net platform, which provides various in-vehicle internet-based services, including remote vehicle access, roadside assistance, diagnostics and maintenance, and the ability to set speed and boundary alerts.
