Vzbv says there is no such thing as trivial personal data

The Federation of German Consumer Organisations Vzbv has warned about a classification within the EU Data Protection Directive that the European Council is currently discussing. The distinction is made between personal data that is worthy of protection and less sensitive consumer data, which Vzbv said might lead to a loss of control over the consumers' own data. The association demands that all data is protected in the same way.
