Watchdog fines Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Teletalk for illegal VoIP ops

Bangladesh Tele­commu­ni­cation Regulatory Commi­­ssion (BTRC) has slapped mobile operators Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink and Teletalk with a collective fine of BDT 219 million for call terminations through illegal VoIP, local newspaper The Independent reports. According to the same source, even after biometric registration, Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink and Teletalk SIMs were used to terminate calls through illegal VoIP.
