Wayra starts investment programme in anti-poverty start-ups

Wayra has started a new acceleration programme, based in Oldham, aimed at fighting the poverty premium: when poor people pay more for essential goods and services than those who can more easily afford them. Wayra Fair By Design will support up to seven tech start-ups per year. The programme will be backed by a new investment fund with GBP 8 million ready to deploy. It is looking to raise up to GBP 20 million.
