WDR to test DVB-T2/HEVC in Bonn-Cologne from August

German public broadcaster WDR announced it will launch a test of the DVB-T2 technology in the Cologne-Bonn region in August, Teltarif.de reports. Several public TV programmes are due to be broadcast unencrypted and in HD quality. After completion of the testing, the broadcaster plans the regular operation of DVB-T2 for 2017. The first devices supporting DVB-T2 are due to be available at the start of the testing period. Samsung announced it will start selling its first TV sets with DVB-T2 and HEVC from March. I think with HEVC coding the set top box and TV Set price so high at the first deployment
