Wearable device shipments to grow 8.5% in 2018 - IDC

In terms of changes, smartwatch operating systems will evolve: smartwatches will focus on providing more glanceable and actionable information, they will supply new means of communication with the help of new connectivity and finally, they will emphasize connection also between wearers and other smart devices and systems, IDC expects. The focus will be on health, and namely on tracking goals and detecting potential ailments.
