Wearables spend to jump 27% in 2020 to USD 52 bln, despite lower selling prices

Wednesday 30 October 2019 | 11:48 CET | News
Global spending on wearables will lift 27 percent in 2020 to USD 52 billion and in 2021 to almost USD 63 billion, from an estimated 41 billion this year and 12.4 billion in 2018, according to the latest study from Gartner. Spend will go most to smartwatches and smart clothing, up 34 percent and 52 percent respectively in 2020. Gartner said adoption of wearables will get a big boost from improved sensor accuracy, better user data protection and notably, advances in miniaturization, especially for smart garments.
