WeWork buys community platform Meetup

Tuesday 28 November 2017 | 08:47 CET | News
Rental startup WeWork is set to buy Meetup, a community platform based in New York City, Crunchbase News, citing an internal Meetup meeting. Meetup CEO and co-founder Scott Heiferman told employees "we are being acquired by WeWork" and mentioned a USD 30 million figure, though it was not clear if that was an acquisition price, or reference to expected investment in the company. Heiferman said the acquisition would allow the firm to double in size. Both Meetup and WeWork declined to comment.
