WhatsApp is the most popular social medium in Qatar

A new study undertaken by the Rassed research programme at the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (IctQatar) has explored usage of social media in Qatar for the first time. The study covering eight different social media services from older ones Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to newer entrants like Snapchat, WhatsApp and Path. The ministry found that WhatsApp was Qatar's leading social media service, used by 87 percent of the population and 97 percent of Qataris.
