Whittingdale supports Channel 4 privatisation

UK Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has expressed support for the privatisation of broadcaster Channel 4, reports The Guardian. Although he stressed that no decision would be made until after the BBC charter renewal negotiations were complete, Whittingdale argued that the state-owned, commercially funded company would be 'better off' in private ownership.
