Wi-Fi use in Spanish airports up 52% since November

Spanish Wimax operator Eurona Telecom has announced that Wi-Fi consumption in Spanish airports has soared by 52 percent since it launched a free Wi-Fi service in the 46 airports owned by Spain's state-run airport authority AENA on 15 November. Up to 40,000 users connect on Mondays and Fridays, with the average dropping to 15,000 on less busy days, said Eurona, adding that nine in ten travellers opt for the free, low-speed service. In terms of devices used, some eight in ten travellers connected via their smartphone, compared to 17 percent accessing via tablets and just 3 percent via
