WiderThan Q2 revenue up 49% to USD 33.1 million

Korean mobile entertainment content and service provider WiderThan had a revenue up 49 percent to USD 33.1 million in the second quarter. Net profit rose to USD 4.6 million from USD 1.6 million. The number of ringback tone subscribers outside Korea was up 20 percent in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, said the company's global operations president, F Terry Kremian. WiderThan CEO Sang Jun Park said that a new carrier customer was signed for ringback tones, with service to be launched in the third quarter.
