WiFi Brasil programme reaches 14,000 hotspots

The WiFi Brasil programme, also known as Gesac, has reached 14,000 access points installed, according to Telebras president Jarbas Valente, reported Teletime. Of the total, 9,917 are public school hotspots, covering 2.64 million pupils. The total number of new access points activated since the beginning of the year is 856. The WiFi Brasil programme uses the Ka-band capacity of the SGDC satellite.
