Wikimedia signs deal with French national library

French national library BNF has signed a partnership with Wikimedia France to give Wikisource access to texts in the public domain held in the Gallica digital library. Of the over 1 million books and documents that can be read for free at Gallica, 1,400 items will be included in Wikisource. The texts digitised automatically by BNF offer readers a search function. The partnership will allow internet users to take part in correcting them to make them completely identical to the original version. So far, Wikisource has gathered 50,000 often ancient texts, all in the public domain or under free
