Wind adds 299,000 mobile customers in Q2, sales down 8%

Italian operator Wind reported second-quarter revenues down 8 percent year-on-year to EUR 1.27 billion, hurt by sharp cuts to mobile termination rates. Excluding the MTR impact, revenues were up 2 percent. EBIDTA declined 9 percent to EUR 475 million, and capex was down 25 percent to EUR 183 million. At the mobile activities, revenues fell 9 percent to EUR 927 million, as 5 percent annual growth in the customer base was offset by price pressure and MTR cuts. Wind added 299,000 new mobile customers in the three months, claiming 73 percent of market net additions in the period, for a total base
