Wind Q1 revenues down 5% to EUR 1.1 bln, customer base dips

Italian operator Wind Telecomunicazioni reported first-quarter revenues down 5 percent on an organic basis to EUR 1.11 billion, compared to EUR 1.42 billion in the year-earlier quarter, which the company attributed to the lingering weakness of the local market. EBITDA also fell 5 percent to EUR 406 million but the operator's EBITDA margin remained more or less stable year-on-year at 37.7 percent thanks to cost efficiency measures put in place. First-quarter Capex was up 26 percent to EUR 172 million from EUR 137 million a year earlier, with the company's 4G network now covering 38 percent of
