Mobile payment specialist Wirecard has announced that its platform is powering Orange Spain’s newly-launched ‘Orange Cash Joven’ service, part of the Orange Cash mobile wallet that’s been available in the country since 2015. The new feature is designed to allow 12 to 17 year-olds to use their NFC-enabled smartphone to pay for goods and services both online and via contactless terminals at physical stores. The Spanish service follows the successful launch of Orange Cash Jeune in France.

Wirecard said it’s responsible for processing all technical and financial processes related to the payment app and the added Orange Cash Joven feature, including the web interface for parents. Orange Cash also combines contactless mobile payments with real-time loyalty and couponing deals from participating retailers through Wirecard’s Card-Linked Offers platform.
