WLAN to be rolled out at Berlin underground stations

With a pilot project at the station Osloer Strasse, Berlin public transport utility BVG is working to deploy free internet access at underground stations. The state-owned company is currently considering potential financing models, Morgenpost.de reports. How long the equipment of the underground stations will take depends on attracting partners from the private sector. BVG spokeswoman Petra Reetz expects that "a considerable amount of stations" will provide WLAN by the end of 2016, while Wi-Fi on the trains is not yet in the planning. The pilot project launched at the much frequented station
