Work to start in June on Gabon-Congo fibre network

Work on a fibre network connecting Gabon and Congo, part of the Central African Backbone (CAB) project, is due to begin in June and to be completed by January 2016, Agence Ecofin reports. The CAB's co-ordinator in Congo, Luc Missidimbazi, recently explained the administrative and technical requirements of the tender documents to around 20 companies considering bidding on the project. The private partner can either be a neutral operator or a group of local operators, he said.
