World Bank kicks off Central African Backbone project

The Central African Backbone (CAB) project, backed by the World Bank and African Development Bank, has celebrated the launch of its first phase in Bangui, Central African Republic, reports Senegalese press agency APS. The first phase involves Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic. This major fibre infrastructure project is designed to allow people living in the countries of Central Africa to gain access to high-speed internet and other services at reasonable prices by linking with the SAT-3 undersea cable via landing stations at Kribi, Cameroon, and Doba, Chad.
