World Bank signs loan for Chad-Sudan-CAR fibre network

The World Bank's representative in Chad and the country's development ministry have signed a loan for the construction of a 1,500 km regional fibre optic network connecting Chad, Sudan and the Central African Republic, reports Agence Ecofin. The around USD 30 million project calls for the construction of a 1,202 backbone between N'Djamena, Chad, and the Sudanese border, and a 334 km extension between Doba, Bennal and the CAR. Chad will invest USD 8 million in the project.
