Worldwide spending on AR, VR to surpass USD 20 bln in 2019

Worldwide spending on augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) is forecast to be nearly USD 20.4 billion in 2019, an increase of 68.8 percent over the USD 12.1 billion expected to be spent in 2018, according to a study by IDC. The report also shows that worldwide spending on AR/VR products and services will continue this strong growth throughout the 2017-2022 forecast period, achieving a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 69.6 percent.
