Xiaomi opens office in Sao Paulo- report

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has opened an office in the city of Sao Paulo, Baguete reports. The company has already hired local staff for its Brazilian operation, according to the report. Earlier this month, Xiaomi's VP for global operations Hugo Barra had said that Xiaomi's plans to enter the Brazilian market may take more time than initially expected, as the the certification process of Xiaomi's devices in the country was taking longer than expected. Barra also said that Xiaomi may launch operations in Brazil within the next 12 months.
